Fixed the effects palette

Post by tperry2x »

Just a quick note to say I fixed the effects palette. It should no longer glitch out on you with repeated uses:

Edit: also tested on MacOS:

I made it appear like a modal dialog - like an answer window, after all - it has an "OK" button to dismiss it.
Oh, and I didn't have to use any custom window controls - probably worth mentioning. So that's handy for those who don't like them.

The custom window controls can now just be a visual-only option - what I mean is the IDE won't rely on them to function properly in any way.

If you check for updates in v1.10 of OXT lite, this should bring you to build: 202501102110

OK I have 202501111924

There was a error while updating saying "Error in filepermissions" or something like that.

But the shadow option work now and it is a Modal window as you mentioned.

The latter addresses the former.

There are many entities accessing these forums. At least a few anon accesses are likely people. But with public sites like this, expect a very large percentage are bots.

Oh hell yeah, this was an annoying bug every time I encountered it (which wasn't too often but always super-annoying). Excellent work! Thanks for fixing it!

All too true, some bots we want to allow for though, as we want things like search engines and Archive.org's Wayback Machine to scrape this site every now and then. I don't mind the xTalk 'faithful' that lurk. It's the spam bots that we don't want.

According to the PhpBB WHO IS ONLINE:
In total there are 45 users online :: 2 registered, 0 hidden and 43 guests (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)
Most users ever online was 1907 on Sun Jan 05, 2025 2:21 am.

Not quite 7000 but still a lot, I'm doubt very much that was 1907 actual people visitors, but who knows, we could be showing up I a LOT of people's search engine hits because we've had discussions of all sorts of topics in this forum. I've ben surprised myself that I've had our forum show up when searching for 'random' computer or programming related things.
