Now it is time to "wake the dead":

I have copied all the elements from the Anglo-Saxon page, and then deleted all the alphabetic buttons (I have retained the punctuation buttons):

At the risk of offending Gothic purists I shall line the glyphs up, as per the Anglo-Saxon card, in line with the QWERTY layout:

As quite a few of the Gothic glyphs do NOT look familiar I shall include a transcription window:

So there is the Gothic alphabet in place. 8-)
-
Obviously it is fairly silly to show diacritic points in isolation:

At the moment input will ONLY work with mouse-clicks, so a SWITCH set will have to be implemented in the cardScript to allow end-users to use their keyboard for input.

I have repositioned the QUIT button to the bottom right hand corner as in the Anglo-Saxon card it was obscured by buttons.

I had to go to an eye doctor the other day for a test as my late father and my mother suffered from glaucoma.

Luckily I have not developed glaucoma (yet): but, while I was waiting for some slightly unpleasant eye drops to do whatever they had to do I bumped up against some odd things about Anglo-Saxon punctuation (sorry, fashionistas, but I read books in hospital waiting rooms rather than cretinously scrolling my mobile phone) . . .

and some more (damn, the book is in my bag in the car downstairs in the garage . . . will go and get it after lunch.)

Let's see if the 'Happy' Unicode consortium have or haven't . . .

Mind you how the fudge anyone knows what the sense of that was some 1100 years ago is anyone's guess.

You have to love those academics fantasising in their vegetable-derived, ivory-substitute towers . . . 8-)

Back from the garage.

pp 42-43

punctus versus : ';'

punctus circumflexus : '•'

punctus elevatus : 0x2E4E which, I notice is NOT 'there' in my modified Junius font (time to hack that).

For some odd reason the Junius people put 2 of those punctuation marks in the private use area.

I have moved them to their Unicode places:

Oh, Dear, the 3 girls who were meant to turn up for an English class at 10.30 today ALL are "indisposed"; which is tough for them: but gives me the time to get on things that, in the ultimate analysis, have more lasting value than them missing a class. 8-)

These input vowels with 'built-in' diacritics which is a bit gratuitous, and by substituting "e + overstrike' and so on, I can free up all those keys.
