Kind of On-Topic, GitHub 'Spark' Natural Language AI Coding

Post by OpenXTalkPaul »

GitHub Spark promises natural language app development
In addition to the Copilot changes, GitHub announced Spark, a natural language tool for developing apps. Non-coders will be able to use a series of natural language prompts to create simple apps, while coders will be able to tweak more precisely as they go. In either use case, you'll be able to take a conversational approach, requesting changes and iterating as you go, and comparing different iterations.
THAT is basically the same mission as 'xTalk' don't you think?

I haven't really looked at this 'Spark' yet, I'll read up on it later.

It sounds promising, but by co-pilot, do they mean the all-encompassing co-pilot being developed by Microsoft that is watching every mouse click and mouse movement in realtime on the OS and reporting that back as telemetry?, or that might be a different thing, but with the same name...

AI generally suffers from long-term memory loss. It won't pick up on what you've asked it before, or it'll drop something it doesn't deem necessary that the user might have specifically requested in the initial stages. ChatGPT4 is better, but still has that issue. Gemini is only really handy for pulling things from Google and using Google tools it seems - great, but it can't achieve what ChatGPT can at the moment.

All of these 'AI' models are only as good as the dataset they are trained on, and it's the old CICO problem - C**p In, C**p Out.
