So I'm attempting to grab a copy before it goes forever.

Ah, damn. I might be too late. Seems the stack collection doesn't work.
But I may have found them here instead. (Seems a bit of a mess now). :(
How bloody hard is it to have a "download all" button??

The Wayback machine is one of my spiritual homes.

Having been born in 1962 'wayback' could also be one of my names: after all, I was born 10 days early because my Mum was frightened by a Brontosaurus. 8-)

If that is in the web archive what makes you think it will vanish down the oubliette of history?

Mind you: there seems ONLY to be the one web-page, as https://web.archive.org/web/20230603021 ... nline.com/

is a dud.

While THIS is present: http://hypercardonline.com/

What is not clear at all is how and whether one can access the actual stacks at all.

This, certainly: https://archive.org/details/hypercardst ... collection

is a busted flush.

But:

that is why.

HOWEVER . . . go to 'internet archive' and enter 'HyperCard' into the search thingy, and you'll be swamped . . . err, no, you'll be SWAMPED.

Yes, but as I mentioned, there's no "download all" button - not even a checkbox to select multiple items and download them. A bit naff.

A bit naff.
It has become increasingly difficult to do a 'slurp' as I have found several times.

Mind you: I really never have enough time to play around with HC stack.

Thanks for the 'slurper': another useful tool for my armoury. 8-)

I've been using JDownloader for decades, it's written in Java. Great tool!

Just be careful to ensure you download it from the correct site, there has been an imposter site (not sure if that's still the case), that's probably hosting malware.

The internet archive is fragile.
Among other legal threats, there's one from record industry (RIAA) over the Archive's 78 Project (which is ridiculous since they are out of print records no longer for sale anymore). Plus Trump/Musk will probably rip away any grants they might have gotten from the US government in order to help them pretend to justify more tax breaks for themselves, so that could hurt.

I probably already have most of the content in the HyperCard collection archived on CD-ROMs. I might even have some stuff that is not in the archive. Back when, I built up a massive collection of Stacks and XCMDs/XFCNs.

AND that thing does not seem to work with Wayback machine web pages.

I wonder about this: https://www6.waybackmachinedownloader.c ... er-online/

Is the waybackmachine not one and the same as the archive.org site?
I downloaded all 11GB of those hypercard stacks with jDownloader, but of course I didn't rely on MacOS to do it.
You do have to also configure the plugin settings in jDownloader to accept more than it's default connections.
