"To protect our investment in LiveCode 10 our prices across the board will be going up 10%, in line with inflation, at the end of November 2022."

emphasis mine

Meanwhile promising things that are, supposedly, set to appear after the price rise.

Sorry, but I am becoming increasingly cynical.

In-line with inflation to me means the global average of inflation rate, which is currently 8.8%, so your cynicism is at least 22% valid in my book, and that's only if you think that it's OK to push the entirety of the pain of inflation, which most everyone is experiencing right now, onto your loyal customers.

Manufacturers will experience general inflation impact, but for service industries and zero-reproduction-cost manufacturing categories like software, the primary impact is limited to payroll.

If this cost difference is being used to bump payroll, that would be a good message for them to include.

I am sure that the LC need more money (who doesn't at the moment?), but, boy-oh-boy, they do seem rather good at justifying things in a way that might rub people up the wrong way.

How about, "Unfortunately, give the current economic climate, to keep up the standard of our ongoing development we are obliged to raise prices."

I do feel that that is a better way of putting things, and a way which most people would sympathise with.
