Last week, having been working with xTalk since I first met HyperCard in 1993, I came across doubleClickInterval
[mentioned in a post on the other side of the water], which is something I could have used about 16 years ago and following had I known it.
BUT . . . from where could I have known that, and from where could I have learnt it, unless,
like some nutty, closet kind of chap, I had sat for days and worked my way through the in-built dictionary?
AND . . . not being a genius . . . what would have made this even occur to me as a possibility?
Thye UTILITY of many of these aspects of the xTalk language only come to light when one is aware of them.
There really needs to be a sort of recipe book with headings of the sort, for the sake of argument, 'How do I change the time between clicks?'
Why the built-in dictionary is almost 100% useless for learners
