I am sure it has something to do with palettising a stack, or topLevelling it, but is almost impossible to pin down.

LMAO, being in the time-zone difference we are you just got up though and I'm... well I'm holding because I just woke up not long ago. I believe I have the flu... I slept like a day. I can "do stuff on the computer" but the second something requires me to get up, well that part auto-sucks. Weak. Drained. But bored so what the hell, haha.
richmond62, were you using a certain part of the stack? Were you working the thing a certain way? Or am I just slamming the IDE around?

I'm gonna get slapped around for this, but does this place have Shoutbox/Chat/wtf-ever that is, available? Cuz we could use it.
Seems like an enable-disable thing from the phpBB I don't know a whole lot, but a bit about...
EDIT 1: All hail the Oxford Comma.
EDIT 2: heck, IRC @ dev.openxtalk.org would work - or even someplace else entirely, but I think that idea freaking rocks. Old school!

Anyway, who's getting this stack and trying the methods rich mentioned?

Hey "Josh": I am sorry, but I do NOT like being referred to as "rich" for a number of reasons:
1. Not an American so need to shorten everybody's name so they sound like some cheap rockstar.
2. My name is "Richmond" (after my maternal grandfather) and NOT "Richard".
3. I am a 61 year old person, and while I like to think of myself as an "ageing trendy", I am really nothing of the sort: I am about as conservative and boring as you can imagine.
An extremely famous Australian rules football player, William Richmond Thursfield has the same middle name as I do (my first name is 'John') for the simple reason that his maternal great-grandfather was my maternal grandfather, Dr Richmond McIntosh:

The 'problem' with the OXT Lite IDE locking up has nothing to do with Paul's Stack Resource stack as I have encountered it elsewhere: and, as far as I remember this may have something to do with palettising a stack.

Oh wow, Richmond. I'll not forget from here on out, and I'm re-reading your post ATM. In fact, I can actually even sorta speak in British (I'm missing Cockney Slang, and am disappointed) as I had a telecom job with a British organization... so I understand. I truly do, and I also apologise once more.

Re: Comments on 0.98
So if I get this right, it's changing the "Float Above Everything" property of a window, within the IDE?
Was fun figuring out how the heck to get out of it the first time...
Anyhow, yes?
EDIT1: I had far too much syntax in this the first time round.

Joshua:
1. I am impressed you worked out what the problem is.
1.1. The next question is, inevitably, how does one prevent that happening?
2. Dunno what 'British' is: I was born in a country illegally occupied by the English for about 320-odd years, and while I do speak English (which I learnt in England) it is NOT my native language; that would be Lallans.

1.1: "that" being that eventually it locks up? (I could use, if I switch apps, that the blasted thing is not STILL A PALETTE, geez)
2. Fascinating, really!

I haven't gotten the IDE to lock up doing this alone. Yet. In Monterey.

A picture would really help.
And, while my name may be odd, it is NOT "Jeez Louise."

Re: Comments on 0.98
I've been using the thing since now, no IDE lock-up. I multi-tasked between; heck I even slept the machine. Are you seeing anything weird out of Activity Monitor before that? Does it draaaaag out, and then the IDE falls over? Sounds like something you can just trigger... just... almost.
I'll leave it running, until/if I see something. OXT Lite... wait. Please tell me that the Get Info version number is incorrect.

Resolved version number question by looking at OpenXTalk Lite > About OpenXTalk. But it's still there, I'd think, in the version string for the Finder... probably known, but just saying.

The get info says "0.0.9.5" which is rubbish as the most recent downloadable version in 0.98.

This is what you were asking about. It's the LC way of making a window a palette, circled for emphasis.

Wait a moment . . .
Minimizing a stack, on MacOS, shoves it in the Dock.
- -
But doing this sort of thing:
does something completely different.

No need of a reboot; just be aware that 'minimise' and 'palettise' are 2, quite different. things.
And, while I am here, you could also learn about 'sheet'.
