Bill Atkinson diagnosed with pancreatic cancer

I follow both HyperCard and Hypertalk creators Bill Atkinson and Dan Winkler on Facebook,
but somehow (probably because of election brain melt) I missed this terrible news announced back in November:

Please do send your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, etc. I hope the treatments are helping him.

Bill has definitely long been a big hero for me, not only for HyperCard and being central figure in creating the Mac platform but also for his contributions to imaging related things ('the 'Atkinson dither') as well as his amazing nature photography work. Many of those Photos that have come with macOS over the years have actually been examples of Bill's excellent photography skills.

I see in the comments section on that Facebook post one person mentioned 'HyperCard lives' and points to LiveCode site

Well, none of us would be 'here' without Bill Atkinson: so prayers of the strongest sort are called for.

Having read the copy of Bill's open and quite frank letter on that site, I can only wish him all the best and hope things continue to improve for him. At least he sounds like he's getting all the treatment he needs, the proper treatment, and most importantly not ignoring it. His work made the Mac great, and his forward thinking is still evident to see after all this time.

Yeah when I read mention of 'holistic' treatment my first thought was of Steve Jobs trying to meditate his cancer away or whatever it was he was doing before he got actual medical treatment for his cancer, which by then was obviously too late.
